How to Read This Calendar
Impact Levels
Events are rated by their historical ability to move markets. High-impact events (e.g. rate decisions, NFP) typically cause immediate volatility. Medium-impact events affect specific sectors. Low-impact events provide color but rarely move markets alone.
Actual vs. Forecast
When an actual reading beats the consensus forecast, it shows in green. A miss shows in red. The magnitude of the surprise — not just direction — determines market reaction. Compare with the previous reading for trend context.
Central Bank Watch
The central bank section tracks upcoming monetary policy meetings. Market-implied probabilities show what futures markets are pricing for each decision. These probabilities shift in response to incoming data, so today's calendar events directly influence rate expectations.
